Kids Camps

Kids Camps, Finding Adventure in these Crazy Times!

It’s summer and your kids have been locked inside and on “zoom” all year. Let’s get outside and have some fun! This summer MST Adventures is hosting two camps in combination with The BikeSmith. We have hosted several student based programs through out the years here at MST Adventures from APS Bridge Programs to East Mountain High School’ s “Bosque Boogie”. While The BikeSmith has been hosting mountain bike group and private clinics in and around Albuquerque since 2018. We look forward to sharing our time and experience with today’s youth in an outdoor setting.

Our camps offer outdoor sports such as biking and paddle boarding as a vehicle for learning, team building, and FUN!

Our first camp, will be a week long, half day camp for the young rider or “Groms”. It’s called the “Grom Mountain Bike Camp” we will be hosting this in conjunction with The BikeSmith. This camp is June 7-11 and runs from 8-12:30.

This camp will be for anyone who will be entering the 7th grade, and up to those going into the 10th grade. A passion for riding bikes is all that it takes to join (and a helmet). During the camp we will build a solid foundation of skills for safe riding by developing skills like, braking, shifting, vison and steering. This will be followed up with the fun skills like, wheelies, front and rear wheel lifts, and having fun while riding the trails. We will also teach self reliance in our bike maintenance modules with skills like fixing flats, adjusting our brakes, and lubricating the moving parts. For more info check out the Grom Mountain Bike Camp web page.

The second camp we will be offering is our Adventure Camp. This will be a week long, full day camp from June 14-18, 2021 and runs from 8:00 to 3:30pm. During this camp we will learn how to stand up paddle board on the Rio Grande, bike in the Bosque, and learn the seven principals of Leave No Trace ethics. For more info please check out the Adventure Camp web page.

Both camps will be limited to 10 participants, and have multiple instructors during the week. If you have more questions that are not answered here or on the corresponding webpages please feel -free to call the office at 505-717-2526.
